Live Bait & Ammo #182: Take a Chance on Gamble?

The Culinary Union in Las Vegas demands 100% testing of all workers before they will agree to go back to work. Workers “are not rats in a lab.” “It’s life and death; that’s the way we see things,” said Culinary Union Secretary Treasurer Geoconda Arguello-Kline in a Tuesday morning video media briefing.

Rory Gamble International UAW President says. “We continue to advocate for as much testing as possible at the current time and eventually full testing when available. As for the start date, the companies contractually make that decision and we all knew this day would come. Our UAW focus and role is and will continue to be, on health and safety protocols to protect our members." Travis Watkins informed fellow UAW members that a couple coworkers apparently had COVID-19. Watkins was fired — walked out of the plant without representation of a Local Union Rep and denied Weingarten Rights. An IUAW Servicing Rep took over. Watkins was terminated and deprived of unemployment benefits March 17. Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Watkins’ fate is in the IUAW’s corner. Not a sound from that court. Not the echo of a chance. We don’t need an ethics committee to determine who the IUAW works for.

Silence = Consent : Consent = Conspiracy to Harrass, Intimidate, and Silence Dissent. The GM-IUAW message is One and the Same. Get Back to Work. When, Where, How GM-IUAW demands. Don’t ask Questions. Anyone who informs fellow UAW members about health and safety issues in the plant will be terminated and the IUAW will support the company. There’s the handwashed ethics. Clear as Pontius Pilate. I don’t need to ask the Board of Derelicts. I don’t need an Ethics Committee Investigation. I got eyes, man.
